Many restaurants and cafes are struggling to pay their overheads and their staff. If we want them to be around after this crisis is over, we must support them now. Even though sit-down eateries have had to close after the government’s announcement last week, there are ways to support our local vegan food scene. Many restaurants are still offering takeaways or have introduced new takeaway menus for the time being. Others have started crowdfunding campaigns or are selling gift vouchers for later use. Here are some places to get a delicious vegan takeaway in Glasgow, campaigns to support and voucher to shop. Vegan Restaurants with Delivery/Collection Options The Hug and Pint – until 10 pm, 23 March 2020 171 Great Western Rd, Glasgow G4 9AW The Hug & Pint has launched a delivery service – The Hug at Home – classics from their menu, along with quality beers, wines, cider and soft drinks for delivery across Glasgow. Their Daring Food burgers are currently unavailable, but they have other burgers, poutine and sides. Place an order for delivery on Just Eat. Tapa Coffee & Bakehouse 19-21 Whitehill St, Glasgow G31 2LH The coffee shop is open for takeaways and offers deliveries on UberEats. All their food is vegetarian and there are lots of vegan options incl. salads, a burrito, a sandwich and cakes.
