Where to get Vegan Takeaway in Glasgow

In times like these, it is important to continually support our favourite vegan(-friendly) restaurants in Glasgow. 

Many restaurants and cafes are struggling to pay their overheads and their staff. If we want them to be around after this crisis is over, we must support them now. Even though sit-down eateries have had to close after the government’s announcement last week, there are ways to support our local vegan food scene.

Many restaurants are still offering takeaways or have introduced new takeaway menus for the time being. Others have started crowdfunding campaigns or are selling gift vouchers for later use.

Here are some places to get a delicious vegan takeaway in Glasgow, campaigns to support and voucher to shop.

Vegan Restaurants with Delivery/Collection Options

The Hug and Pint – until 10 pm, 23 March 2020

171 Great Western Rd, Glasgow G4 9AW

The Hug & Pint has launched a delivery service – The Hug at Home – classics from their menu, along with quality beers, wines, cider and soft drinks for delivery across Glasgow.

Delivery from 12-10 pm every day. Minimum spend £10. Delivering to the following postcodes: G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G41, G51, G31, G40, G12, G11, G42, G9, G20, G21, G22.

Outside areas, ring 0141 331 1901 to ask if a delivery is possible.

The V&V Cafe

481 Great Western Road, Glasgow G12 8HL

Open daily for limited takeaways from 10 am to 4 pm – croissants, cakes, scones, pastries and coffee. They also have a retail section stocking bread, milk, soap, handwash, toothpaste, tinned foods and other whole foods.

Picnic

103 Ingram St, Glasgow G1 1DX

Open Monday-Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm for takeaway customers. They also offer deliveries via Uber Eats and Deliveroo, £5 minimum spend.

Suissi Vegan Asian Kitchen

494 Dumbarton Rd, Glasgow G11 6SL

Open for collection – check out their menu online and call 0141 339 9331 to order.

They also offer Mr Tofu’s Delivery Service: £2 charge, £15 minimum spend, card payment only, delivery to postcodes G11, G12, G13 and G14, and any address within 15 minutes drive from the restaurant.

Hooked

Popular fish & chips takeaway in Glasgow’s Southside. They are still open for takeaways and have amazing vegan options, incl. vegan burgers, haggis or sausage supper, and tofu-“fish.

Rose & Grants

27 Trongate, Glasgow G1 5EZ

Offers food delivery via Just Eat and Deliveroo including several vegan choices: cooked breakfast, breakfast rolls, a special roll, a filled bagel and a toastie.

Absurd Bird

3 Nelson Mandela Pl, Glasgow G2 1QY

Absurd Bird has always had great vegan options. Now they have launched a separate vegan-friendly listing on Uber Eats to make ordering vegan food even easier – Absurd Vird.

Cafe Coco

12 Albert Dr, Glasgow G41 2PE

Open for takeaways and deliveries via UberEats, Just Eat and Deliveroo. They have various vegan options from paninis, wraps and sandwiches to a burger, a curry, smoothies, milkshakes, cakes and more.

Drygate

Offers takeaway collection and delivery orders via email. Their menu with plenty of vegan options is online here.

Open with a couple of takeaway options: Kerbside Collection, Contactless Delivery and Take Away Collection.

Buddy’s BBQ & Burgers

They have some amazing vegan options on the menu. Their Daring Food burgers are currently unavailable, but they have other burgers, poutine and sides.

Taco Mazama

6 Renfield St, Glasgow G2 5AL (City Centre) and 263 Byres Rd, Glasgow G12 8TL (West End)

They offer delivery of vegan burritos, burrito bowls and fajitas on Just Eat and UberEats (Byres Road branch, Renfield St branch).

Tapa Coffee & Bakehouse

19-21 Whitehill St, Glasgow G31 2LH

The coffee shop is open for takeaways and offers deliveries on UberEats. All their food is vegetarian and there are lots of vegan options incl. salads, a burrito, a sandwich and cakes.

Pizza Punks

90 St Vincent St, Glasgow G2 5UB

Create your own vegan pizza and order it for delivery on Deliveroo. Or buy a gift voucher to give to a friend or use later on.

Hanoi Bike Shop

New address: 28 Gibson Street, Glasgow G12 8NX 

Hanoi Bike Shop have moved their kitchen to Stravaigin on Gibson Street and are offering a reduced takeaway menu including vegan options.
